Suze Orman,The Recession, The Law of Attraction and YOU

You might well ask what the recession, Suze Orman and the Law of Attraction have in common? First of all this recession has got everyone’s attention. I just typed in recession on google adwords and recession was typed in 1,830,000 times in January. The average over the past year was 823,000 times for recession.

More than ever Suze Orman’s advice is being sought out. And Suze Orman is a well respected financial advisor; but is the advice she is giving going to be what works best for your action plan? The one thing I find in common with the financial advisors we see on TV: Suze Orman, David Bach, Jean Chatzky etc. is that while they offer ways to go on a debt diet; they don’t offer solutions to help you increase your income in 2009.

Second what does Suze Orman's advice have to do with the Law of Attraction?

It's a valid question and in this blog post I'll give my perspective and how it applies to your life today and what you can do. The Law of Attraction is a powerful force but what the heck does it have to do with Suze Orman?

Suze Orman has been on TV frequently in the last few weeks. Orman has been featured on Oprah, Larry King and multiple news casts. This recession is affecting millions of people. People who were barely making ends meet are being faced with not only losing their jobs but many are facing foreclosure.

Suze Orman has written a book: 5 Tip Action Plan for 2009 to help people keep their money safe.

Suze Orman's 5 tip action plan:

  1. Eliminate credit debt
  2. Raise your FICO Fair Isaac Corporation, the company that created the credit score years ago.
  3. Create a spending action plan
  4. Create a savings action plan
  5. Create a retirement action plan

I wrote a hubpage article called: Suze Orman's 5 Tip Action Plan for Economic Downturn  All well and good. Sound advice. However I'd like to give you some food for thought.

  • Why is it that we focus on lack? Focus on tightening our belts?
  • How do we expect the universe to respond?
  • How can the law of attraction apply?
  • Why not focus on expanding our income circle?

My friend and mentor Jan Janzen made a great suggestion in her book Getting Off The Merry-Go-Round. By all means spend less than you earn but don’t dwell on it. Your focus should be on how much you earn not on how much you spend. This is how the law of attraction works.

Instead of creating a budget of what was going out Jan began tracking what was coming in! Every night before she went to bed she would write down whether she got an affiliate cheque, had a client pay her, or if the bank paid her interest on her money.

What a concept!

If we want the law of attraction to work for us then why do we focus on how much debt we have? Is that what we want to expand? I think NOT!

She said she started with getting income 6 days a month and it rose to 28 days a month. This is a gal that almost went bankrupt. She changed her thinking from a poverty mentality to an abundance mentality. Jan explains that there is no shortage of money; it’s everywhere just like air, water and food is for those priveleged enough not to be living in a developing country.

Jan goes onto explain that it's all energy: air, water, food, money. She said we don't wake up in the morning wondering if there is going to be enough air. Jan made me laugh when she said you wouldn't go to a workshop on how to get enough air. We expend a ton of energy worrying about money. The law of attraction is always working either positively or negatively.

I decided to take Jan's advice at the beginning of Feb.

As of Feb 20 I had money roll in 14 out of 20 days. Now I’m self-employed 2 days a week outside the home, so 6 of those were days that I traded time for $ but all the other days deposits from affiliates just showed up. $100 here, $50 there, $170 over there...sometimes more than one deposit on the same day.

And this is just the beginning.

I haven’t been in this game very long; a year ago I didn’t know what a keyword or anchor text was. In the beginning I received sporadic cheques for small amounts. I remember being so excited to receive $15.60 in my paypal account! In late August my husband came to me and said: "If you're going to make money doing this I better do the books!"

We tend to think in linear terms instead of exponential. We think that if it took 5 years to earn X of dollars then it’s going to take that long to earn it again excluding inflation.

It doesn’t work that way on the internet. A few dollars can soon become $100s of dollars and then $1000s of dollars almost overnight. (once a foundation and system is in place)

My friend and sponsor Ann Sieg had a similar experience. 5 years ago she couldn't afford to puchase John Reese's Traffic Secrets for $1000. Today Ann Sieg earns over $250,000 month. Now that is exponential growth!

It is fun to have cheques coming in from all over the place. Since September $100s of dollars a month have been showing up. I have every expectation that $100s of dollars a month will expand into $1000s of dollars a month. And it won't take the many years it took me to earn $500 using old school methods.

Now $100s of dollars may not sound like much to you but I for one am sick of all the hype and all the claims to be earning 10s of 1000s of dollars in no time flat. I think if we are honest with ourselves an extra $400-$600 month extra coming in a month would make a huge difference to most of us.

This recession is serious; so by all means take Suze Orman’s advice and get your finances in order. Have your bills paid automatically. Have money for your savings plan and retirement plan come off your wages automatically. Stop giving so much attention to all the bills you have to pay.

Get your action plan for 2009 in place and discipline yourself to spend less than you earn. Period. Then let the law of attraction work for you.

Focus on expanding your income circle.

Watch this NBC video clip for a possible solution: People turn to “network marketing” in soft economy:

http://www.nbc13.com/vtm/news/local/article/people_turn_to_network_marketing_in_soft_economy/59952/

Network marketing offline has a tarnished reputation to say the least. The internet has changed all that. The information highway allows us to reach people in a way that was never possible before. In fact people will reach out to us. The law of attraction in the form of attraction marketing is very much at work on the internet. Tap into this energy.

To escape the recession, tap into this abundance. Suze Orman’s 5 Tip Action Plan for 2009 is a great place to start. Then quickly move forward to finding ways to expand you income.

Ann Sieg is offering a Special Free Report on how you can take advantage of the internet and apply the law of attraction. Reserve your copy of The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto now.
